Exercise-8 Final Submission

For my final submission of this exercise I changed my group a ittle bit and decided a new order for my groups to come together. I designed my new groups as they can complete each other. My new order for them to come together is changing the dimension of the group and sliding group half to outside. by doing this I created voids between groups which can flow between groups. I solved the problem of being linear by connecting each group with three other groups.

Exercise-8 Third Submission

In this design I decided to change my group a little bit with adding triangles and using more mesh. But this time I went to a totally wrong path before final submission. I got a critic as it is linear. So I decided to turn back to my first group because using triangles and more mesh closed my groups for coming together with other groups.

Exercise-8 Second Submission

After getting critics from my first submission I made some changes in my design. I removed slits in order to prevent creating undefined voids. I created an order for my groups to come together.

Exercise-8 First Submission

This model's topic is voids. We were asked to make a model without a number or element limitation, but we were going to use mesh, balsa and void for the first time. Before I started doing my model, I decided which shapes I will use for my design. I decided to use basic geometrical shapes since we were used to them from the past weeks. then I created a group which had 3 total voids in it. I brought these groups together to make their voids to flow into each other.

Exercise-7

This exercise's topic was hierarchy. Hierarcy is an order which can be explained around a center. this is not a physical center but a mental center like the center of power, the center of ruling. In my design I tried to use hierarchy by changing my group's size in propotional levels. at the and I had a system which has the biggest group at the top of its hierarcy.

Exercise-6

For this exercise we were asked to make a design which has contrast and dominance. I made a research and found that contrast and dominance relies on each other. Dominance can be made with using contrast level. So I decided to make a design with a group and I used this group three times in different sizes. Changing the size and dimention of group made a contrast between my groups. bigger group became dominant to the smaller ones.

Exercise-5

I made this design based on a rhythm which was given as a homework one week before this project. My rhythm was a sound that included two different sounds in two different sound levels. I created two groups for each sound. First group inludes two triangles and two squares. and the second one includes two rectangles two triangles and one square. I brought these groups together in a way that it will reflect my sound rhythm. I put the groups together with an order and placed the last group in a higher position to show the sound level difference.

Exercise-4

In this exercise I tried not to have a base for my design since I got that as a feedback from my last design. This time I made two groups going to two different ways. Inevitably that made my design look symmetric. My design is now able to stand on its different sides. That shows it doesnt have an actual base.

Exercise-3

For this exercise I tried to group my given elements in two different ways. First group is the group of two rectangles staying parralel to each other. Second group is parralel squares connected with triangles. Then I brought them together in a way that groups can hold each other and stand still.
